Unraveled Wednesday – Slow and Steady

Hello all, happy Wednesday! I hope you’re all having a good week. I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. I’ve had meetings for at least 5 hours of my day every day this week, so it’s just flying by! On Wednesdays I link up with the folks over at As Kat Knits to share our reading and knitting progress.

Things are going to be a bit monotonous here in blogland. I continue to work on and make good progress on my Tina Tse test knit. It’s looking really beautiful. I’m still slightly disappointed in the fact that these colors are not olive green and pink, but gray and a very very light peach-ish color. I think the sweater looks beautiful, and if I’m being honest, I’ll probably end up wearing this more, but I was looking forward to trying out that color combo!

On the reading front, I am still working through The Shadow of the Wind. I’m really enjoying this book a lot. It’s a bit slow in terms of plot development, but not so slow that I don’t want to keep reading it. Also apparently it’s a series, though it looks like it’s more like the books are in the same universe rather than continuation of this specific story. I decided to read this book because in January, I joined the site Habitica, which is like a to do list/ habit tracker. One of the things they have is “challenges,” where you can link up on certain to dos. One of the challenges I joined was a random reading challenge with 15 different prompts. One of them was “the oldest book on your to be read list.” And while this wasn’t technically first on my Goodreads list, I got this book in like 2013 I think when a friend moved away so it’s technically the book I’ve had the longest that I haven’t read.

What are you working on this week?

  1. That test knit sweater is lovely! The color combo is not necessarily one I would have picked to knit, but 100% agree… I think I would be more likely to wear this combo than whatever I’d have chosen for myself. 🙂

I also have donut stitch markers. I don’t think mine have faces, though. Yours is really cute.

  2. That test knit is gorgeous! You’ve made a ton of progress on it and I can’t wait to see it finished! I’m glad that you’re enjoying your book – it looks like so much fun!

  3. Your knitting is gorgeous – I love these colours. I have just read The Shadow of the Wind. Really enjoyed it. No one I know has ever heard of it, so what a coincedence to see it pop up here! Hope you enjoy the rest of the book.

  4. I’m sorry that you are not so hyped about the colours – it would have looked amazing, but I think these will suit you, too. 🙂
I started “The Name of the Wind”… years and YEARS ago, but I think I never finished it for some reason – because of the plot. The writing itself was beautiful, though, I do remember that much! 🙂
Have a great Wednesday, and I hope you can enjoy the rest of the week! 🙂
