So yeah…

Today’s my one year anniversary of the blog! I’d love to write a post about how much I’ve enjoyed this past year and some of my favorite posts and people, but just like… that’s not happening tonight.

Our country is pretty scary right now and I just don’t feel like doing it. I do believe in taking breaks from the endless news cycle, so I am doing knitting but just like – it seems silly to post anything much right now.

I’m scared, tired, exhausted of all this. I’m grappling again with my place as a white person in America, especially one descended from founding fathers.

So yeah, not much from me today. Expect knitting content to resume at some point. Cause yeah, I really do love blogging here. It’s been a great year in terms of the blog here, thanks to all of you who have been along for the journey!

  1. Happy anniversary, it’s been a pleasure getting to know you and I think everyone is a bit shell shocked so totally understand it’s hard to know what to say. The meditative nature of knitting/crochet and the community spirit in Blogville have got me through 2020 and your blog is included in that, so I celebrate your anniversary. 🤗

  2. I’m sending you a big hug. I found it scary as well, and I just hope that … yeah. things will get better. But, just like highlandheffalump: Thank you for starting this blog and for sharing your thoughts and knits here! I always enjoy your posts, and I’ll be here when you feel like coming back.

  3. Happy Blogiversary, Kath. I think many of us are in a similar place – I definitely felt silly trying to write anything upbeat or positive this morning in the midst of All of This. We’re going to get through this together. Like others who have commented – the blogging community was vital in my life in 2020 and your writing was a part of that. So thank you!

  4. Happy Anniversary. Walking away from news media is a must do every now and then. Things are scarey in our country. But, I do believe “we shall overcome” and once again become the nation we are meant to be. Sending hugs your way. Keep those needles clicking. The rhythmic sound is salve for the soul and mind.

  5. Happy blogiversary! Taking steps back from news / social media / even the blog can be really important for my mental health. We’ll be here for the knitting content when you’re ready to post more of it!
