A bunch of thoughts that I want to share but don’t feel long enough for a full post:
Today I wore a Michele Obama inspired jumpsuit outfit (though mine is more red than plum) and it made me happy, even though it’s definitely too fancy for working from home 😀
I’m relieved yesterday’s inauguration went off without any violence, and I’m hopeful about the future. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried at a few points during the ceremony. I’m balancing that hope with the knowledge and understanding that there is so, so far to go, and our country’s president is far from the only one who gets us there. But there definitely is a sense of hope and positivity that I feel like wasn’t there before.
I haven’t done too much knitting (at least by my most recent pandemic standards) the past few days. I’m working on two projects that I’ve not shown off on here before – an Ursa sweater and the second sock for a test knit which is technically done because I made the first. Hoping to have one of these done this weekend!
I’ve gotten really into woodworking/ DIY videos and I’ve been bingewatching I Like To Make Stuff. Does anyone know of any of these type of channels run by a person who’s not a white man? Nothing against Bob and others like him, I really enjoy their stuff, but I’d love to diversify my subscriptions.

There was some great fashion – I also loved Ella Emhoff’s sparkly tweed. Yes, it definitely feels like there’s a sense of release and relief.
I find it’s really soothing to watch someone make something 🙂
I JUST learned that Ella Emhoff is a student at Parson’s School of Design – which is kind of a fantasy of mine (even though I’m terrified of garments). That’s just so cool!! I loved her whole outfit, especially the headband. My favorite outfits of the day were Michelle’s and Jill’s… But that yellow that Amanda Gorman was wearing….!! There’s too much to choose from!
That is a KILLER OUTFIT! It looks so good on you! The colours really compliment you, it’s great. I am so happy that the inauguration went off well – I was worried for the same exact reasons as you, and while this is not even local news, I already realise that I feel less tense. 😉

Yes, things aren’t perfect but I think many people in this country and around the world were living with this like constant dread of “What horrible thing will the president say or do next” and that at least is gone.

You look fantastic! I loved seeing so many female role models yesterday! I’m not convinced we’re out of the woods for potential violence, but I’m definitely glad we made it through yesterday without anything to ruin it.
I got a bit misty eyed yesterday during the inauguration, and I know a lot of my friends did too. Just thinking about how historic yesterday was makes me happy to be alive in this moment in history.
I love your pantsuit, it looks comfortable! I don’t own any right now. Which is disappointing; I look formidable in a pantsuit and heels.
