Greetings everyone from a dreary and rainy CT. If you’re in the US, I hope you’re enjoying this long weekend, even if it’s not as conducive for picnics and cookouts as it usually is.
Since it’s Sunday, I am calling this a Year of Projects post. I actually realized that something fits into my list, so yay! The new Year of Projects is getting ready to start July 1-ish, come check out the Ravelry Group and join our awesome group of bloggers!
I have very exciting news – I have finished my latest test knit! I was very excited because I thought I would have to work on this for all my knitting time Saturday, today, and Monday, especially because we had people over Friday night and I did not meet my stitch goal at all. BUT I realized there was an error in my tracking spreadsheet, and I wasn’t counting the day I had set as the due date as a day you could knit, so basically the goal was over two days instead of three. That and the fact that I basically did nothing but knit yesterday (a rainy Saturday is great for that) meant that I finished it off this morning! And I realized as I was writing this post that this does cross a project off the list, as it was a sock project that used stash yarn. So yay, a late check off the list! I’m looking forward to showing both my recent tests off soon.
In other knitting news, I am making my way through the second sleeve of the Wee Envelope, and hoping to finish the yoke/sleeves tonight. I didn’t work on this at all this week in an attempt to get my test socks done. I would up one of the skeins for my Princess Fiona sweater because I am going to my knitting friend’s house for a picnic tomorrow and I want to bring this yarn since it’s for the sweaters we’re all making with this yarn for Rheinbeck. Two of the four of us are done, so I need to get on it!
I’ll finish off the post with a couple photos from church today. I was singing a solo and leading the hymns (if you feel so inclined, you can watch it here, my solo is at the 31 min mark). It was so great to help lead worship with my friend. We’re still not open to the full congregation, so it feels a bit like cheating to be maskless, but it was four fully vaccinated people in a very large room so I’ll cherish these little moments in my beautiful church. I also took a few close ups of church windows for you Juila. 😀

So fun of you to provide a link to your solo. That is a song I first heard years ago – sung by a group called Regeneration. I just looked it up and had no idea how old the song really is. Very cool. It’s great to listen to; I imagine much harder to sing. You did great. I loved your smile at the end. 🙂

Thanks for the link to your solo. I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to hearing more about your test knits. Have you knit for the designers before? Did you have to provide a lot of feedback or were the patterns pretty complete? Do you do it for fun or do you get some type of compensation (I know this is a matter of discussion).
I can definitely talk about these in the post, but yeah I have done more than 20 tests! It varies a bit but I haven’t had too much feedback, I test for fun but get a free pattern and sometimes discounted yarn

Your solo was wonderful and I love your church and your ministers! I may start attending online. It is a beautiful church too. Your Wee Envelope is so cute in that color orange too. Thank you for the link. The past Sunday we were allowed to go maskless at Mass if we were fully vaccinated. It felt good to be able to sing without fogging my glasses.
Yes, we live about 2 hours from Rhienbeck so if it’s happening and we can get tickets (not sure if they’ll try to limit people) we’ll be there!
That’s lovely! We’re still being cautious – the rest of the congregation was on Zoom but it’s so nice to be in church in person again – I didn’t realize how much I had missed it until I was there again

I absolutely LOVE the windows, honestly. They are so so intricate and the angel in particular reminds me a lot of Michaelangelo? Very Renaissance-like, absolutely great. (the second picture is fanastic as well, I don’t think you see that scene very often!)
