Little Projects and the End of Vlogmas – YoP 21/22 – Week 26

Happy Sunday! Checking in today with a Year of Projects post. Year of Projects is a group of bloggers who plan their projects for the year and then blog about their progress weekly, usually on Sundays. You can find my list for the year here.

I hope everyone who celebrates had a wonderful Christmas! We had a nice little family gathering, it was a bit different but felt so perfect to have things be mostly just the four of us – my parents, my sister, and I. More on that in a bit.

On the project front, I’m still spending the vast majority of my time on my Cempasuschil top. I’m hopeful that by this time next week it will be ready to show off! The pattern probably won’t be released until the fall, so I probably won’t do a full post on it, but it isn’t a secret test so I will at least take a photo of it to share.

On Thursday and Friday though, I had some time and need to make small little gifts, so I whipped up two little fridge magnets. These are the (Rav link only) Buy You a Beer and (non-Rav link) Tiny Tree Sock patterns. I made both these in about an hour each on Thursday, then on Friday I sewed the little gift bag/ envelopes. These were both fun little projects, and definitely a case of last minute gifting that turned out perfectly.

There’s lots more info about my week in the last two installments of Vlogmas, which I’ve embedded below. I really enjoyed filming little parts of my life and sharing them with you all, I hope they were fun!

I hope everyone has a nice relaxing week!

  1. The beer mug frig magnet is brilliant!! I definitely need some and my stepson would love them too. Glad you had a nice Christmas with family. I’m SOOOO thankful we flew home to be with friends and family. Congrats on your vlogmas!

  2. So glad your Christmas went well. Your projects are lovely and I love the sewn gift bags – I like the reusable aspect and the using up of scraps.

  3. Sounds like a nice Christmas! I love your little gifts, and watching you work on sewing the button to the pouch WHILE making a vlog is really impressive!

    Have a great week!

  4. Have a wonderful Christmas. I did watch another vlog episode and could tell the music had been lowered but I still find it hard to hear well with music playing, I realise the vlogs I repeatedly return to have music intros but nothing when talking. But this is your channel and I’m sure others will have enjoyed it and hope you don’t mind me sharing this feedback.

    1. Good to know Liz! It’s funny, when I’ve done more traditional podcasts where it’s just me talking for many minutes straight, then I’ve done no music. But because Vlogmas was such a mix of talking and not talking clips it felt like too much to keep switching the music on and off.

      1. I can see what you are saying, but I watched all of Jude Harper’s and This Little Wonderful Life’s vlogmasses and they had silence when speaking and played music when it was just them filming. As I say it is just my preference but its your videos and maybe there are others who lean towards ones with music throughout. 🙂

  5. What a great idea to make knitted fridge magnets. (She says putting on her thinking cap for fridge magnets to make for next Christmas). I am looking forward to seeing your finished Cempasuschil top (and then you can help us pronounce it). Happy New Year and all good things wished for you in 2022
