Hello wonderful people! It’s been a loooong time but I figured I’d pop in with an Unraveled Wednesday post. Thanks to Kat for hosting this reading and crafting focused link up.
I’m currently working on a test knit! It’s been a while and I saw this beauty and figured it would be perfect. This is the Cabana Cardigan by Chase Harpole, likely releasing this summer. It includes a fun side to side construction and I love the easy, beachy vibes. I started on Sunday and have been FLYING through. I’m using some Queensland Eco, a blend of linen and cotton that adds some fun thick and thin texture. I’m hoping to finish this in the next few weeks because I have a vacation coming up and I don’t think I want to take an almost done project with me as I’ll have a LOT of knitting time.
Surprisingly, I’ve been able to keep up reading most days through 2026. It really is amazing how much more time and mental energy I have to devote to books when I’m not doing shows the entire year! Here’s my April reading wrap-up from StoryGraph, mostly this month I listened to a trilogy, the Marion Lane murders while commuting. I enjoyed the steampunk vibes of this, though sometimes it was a hard shift from cozy student antics type vibes to some more violent thriller parts. The only other book I read last month was The Everlasting by Alix Harlow, which I had a hard time getting through. I’ve really liked the other books by this author so it’s a bit of a letdown. It definitely got me in the feels at the end and I’m glad I pushed through to finish it. It definitely felt like a slog at points and it’s why the “pages read” line of the graph below is a lot less active this month. I’m currently reading The Madness of Crowds by Louise Penny as I work my way through the Inspector Gamache series. Even though this is the 17th book, I’m still drawn in by the characters, setting, mystery, and emotions.
In the past weekend, I saw an opera (Carmen) and enjoyed dressing up, and then two days later went to my Seattle Storm season ticket holder event and got a photo with two of the players. Truly, the duality of my personality :p
Have a great week!
