About Me

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m so happy to have you here.

My name is Kathryn, and I set up this blog to talk about my knitting. I have been knitting steadily since late 2014, though I first learned when I was in middle school. Knitting is a way for me to relax, challenge myself, meet new friends, and make beautiful things. I figured out a few years ago that my driving force is to create things people use or enjoy, and knitting fits right into this.

That driving spirit is not just about knitting though. It’s what keeps me engaged at my day job at an insurance company, working on process improvement to make other people’s jobs easier. It’s also why I do theater – the name of this blog comes from my love of working on a show.

I’m finally getting around to using some of my @thefarmersdaughterfibers sock squad colorways, and the September color, Fantastic Mr Fox, is absolutely perfect right now! If you’re looking to support Indigenous creators today, check out FDF.

I have almost no food in the house after vacation, but one of my lettuce mixes in my new @lettucegrow was ready, so now I get to have fancy refrigerator salad for dinner! Also gonna put violas on everything I eat from now on cause they’re so stinking cute.

Bringing your sewing machine on vacation and making a dress is a totally normal thing to do, right?

Pretty perfect morning at @wildcenter today. I think it’s the last nice weather I’ll have for my trip so I had to soak it all in!

The Feels Like Summer crop by @wanderfulknits is live! I loved testing this top for Symone. I used some merino linen from @moondrakeco which is a joy to knit with.

Another day, another test knit! These are the Twist & Shout socks from @knottygurlcrochet . This is a great pattern to use up little bits of sock yarn.

Do I really have to wait a month to start the #shawlographymkal ?! My yarn arrived today, it’s this glorious combo I picked from @neighborhoodfiberco . I’m really happy my color sense seems to be getting a little better, because I think these look really great together!

Enjoying some slightly cooler weather with knitting and tennis outdoors. Working on some afterthought everything socks with Ace pride yarn from @iamfullyspun and an awesome project bag from @republica_unicornia_yarns
