About Me

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m so happy to have you here.

My name is Kathryn, and I set up this blog to talk about my knitting. I have been knitting steadily since late 2014, though I first learned when I was in middle school. Knitting is a way for me to relax, challenge myself, meet new friends, and make beautiful things. I figured out a few years ago that my driving force is to create things people use or enjoy, and knitting fits right into this.

That driving spirit is not just about knitting though. It’s what keeps me engaged at my day job at an insurance company, working on process improvement to make other people’s jobs easier. It’s also why I do theater – the name of this blog comes from my love of working on a show.

On this blog you’ll find my musings around the projects I knit and how they fit into my life. I love to get to know my fellow bloggers, so stop by and say hello!

What a wonderful weekend with @dianamh119 @lilfif21 and @lirabella! It was great to see a little of Cape Cod but mostly to spend time together 💜
So excited to see several of my WHCT friends in this, and to support my long time theater buddy @montaukgurl456 😁🎭
I didn’t take enough photos, but I still loved working on this show! 9 to 5 was a great first experience with Connecticut Theater Company, and it was so wonderful get to be a part of this amazing cast and crew!
Did I pick this pattern, the Little Paddocks socks by @ambroseknits , because it was inspired by the one physical Marple book I own? Yes, yes I did. It’s the perfect pattern for my new @republica_unicornia_yarns St Mary Mead 235 colorway!
I had the week off for tech week, so I decided to make a jumpsuit! This is the Zadie Jumpsuit by @paper_theory and I LOVE how it turned out. I made it with some basic black cotton blend because I plan to wear this backstage, but I found this great butterfly lace fabric that I put over top of the bodice and I think that’s a great added touch.
It’s release day for a recent test knit! This is the Cempasúchil Top by Magali McDonald, aka @theknityorker . I really love the texture of this simple tee, and it’s already gotten a lot of wear under cardigans or over dresses for work. #cempasuchiltop #knitting
@dianamh119 and I decided to step up our usual Friday movie nights with a little homemade meal. This was the delicious Chicken Adobo from @halfbakedharvest and a cucumber coconut cocktail. Yum!!
Lazy, rainy days off call for fancy breakfasts and women’s sports
Can I finish this blanket this year? There will be two more quadrants above these, and I basically need to knit a square a day. There’s a new post up on my blog about this!
