One of my favorite ever blog posts was my Hall of Shame post, where I went over all my unfinished knitting projects and decided to

About Me

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m so happy to have you here.

My name is Kathryn, and I set up this blog to talk about my knitting. I have been knitting steadily since late 2014, though I first learned when I was in middle school. Knitting is a way for me to relax, challenge myself, meet new friends, and make beautiful things. I figured out a few years ago that my driving force is to create things people use or enjoy, and knitting fits right into this.

That driving spirit is not just about knitting though. It’s what keeps me engaged at my day job at an insurance company, working on process improvement to make other people’s jobs easier. It’s also why I do theater – the name of this blog comes from my love of working on a show.

On this blog you’ll find my musings around the projects I knit and how they fit into my life. I love to get to know my fellow bloggers, so stop by and say hello!

“I built this sanctuary to be inhabited by my ideas and fantasies”
When I booked this trip in February, I had no idea it would be the end of the @operaphila festival, but my goodness it worked out great! I was staying within walking distance of all these venues. All three operas I saw were amazing. It was a great mix of classic and modern, with some challenging themes and exciting new productions. I also got to see two “the show must go on” moments, with the delay of one show due to a power outage, and the main female lead being a last minute replacement in another. But that was no problem for me, and I left so impressed with how everyone handled those situations.
Great night at @milkboyphilly with @fetcherband @crybaby.band and @whitehalltheband
Still riding high on the vibes from last night. The combination of opera in an unapologetically queer space, hosted by @johnjarbeaux . Getting to see @heysamantharose who I knew growing up sharing songs from an exciting and important new opera project. Hearing @alsoanoperasinger live and exploring what it means to create new self and love ourselves. It was all amazing and moving and a night I’ll never forget.
High school reunion 💜
My year of absolutely excellent theater is now 3/4 over. Being a part of Zanna Don’t was so special, and I loved getting to see such an amazing group of people get to tell this story. This cast and crew made me smile every day with not just their campiness but their heart. 🩷⚡️I love you all, no extra love here.
I love getting to do this 🩷
Inspired by the amazing production of Rent I just saw, here’s Collins and Angel as portrayed by @kevinkileymusic and @_galendonovan, with costumes by @brendonrogers0426 💜
Not really my usual content, but I want some way to mark this occasion. After starting as an intern in 2010, today is my last day in Small Business Underwriting. On Monday I start a new role, still at the same company but in the Middle Market department. After so long in the same place, it’s going to feel very odd, but I’m really excited for this next step!
