Happy Wednesday everyone! On Wednesdays I’ll sometimes try and link up with the folks over at As Kat Knits who share progress on stitching and reading. Thanks Kat for hosting us!
Since Sunday, I’ve been 100% working on my Anders Sweater. I’m making the 12-18 month size for my sister’s best friend. Their baby is due in February so this should be perfect for their baby a year from now. My sister and I worked together to pick a pattern and yarn colors. Her friends live in Vermont, so we thought these evergreen trees were perfect! They’re not finding out the sex of the baby, so we went with this slightly heathered teal. I think it will look really awesome, and it does seem like I’ll meet my goal of finishing it this week, as I’m 50% done according to Excel.

I’m having a nice time doing the colorwork at the bottom of this sweater! It’s definitely been a while since I’ve done stranded colorwork, and I always enjoy it more than I think I do! It’s definitely a place where I’ve seen a ton of improvement in my knitting from the first time I tried the technique. I also am really digging the partial button band and would love to have a sweater with it for myself!
On the reading front, I started A Court of Thorn and Roses, which is the first in a series that one of my best friends really likes. So far it’s good, though I’m not totally into it. My friend has let me know that this book is a little slow but that the series gets a lot better so I’m looking forward to the rest of it! Since I last blogged about reading, I finished The Secret Life Of Addie LaRue and Reverie. I really liked both theses books! The Secret Life of Addie LaRue was just such an intriguing story and ended hopefully, if not happily. The author did a really great job of making me really feel the emotions along with the characters. And the connection to artwork was a really cool touch and really helped developed the world of the story. Reverie was an amazing fantasy story with a gay protagonist and a really inventive premise. I really dug it a lot. It’s one of those books that I kind of what a prequel or companion books for because the characters and the backstory are really interesting for me.
Hope you’re having a great week! What are you reading and working on?
