Happy mid-week everyone! I’ve been very monogamous in my knitting since I last blogged, but that does mean I have a good amount of progress to share.
This is *surprise, surprise* a new test knit I’m working on, called the Feels Like Summer Crop. I’m really excited for the finished product . I think it will be a really great summer layering piece. I’m on the stockinette section now and I think I’ll just zoom through it, especially because I’ll be decreasing to the next size down. As always, I asked the designer before doing this since it was a test. The benefit to my project tracking spreadsheet is that I’ll be able to compare the original stitches with my final product, so I can estimate the yardage for the larger size with pretty good accuracy.
The yarn is Moodrake Yarn Merino Linen, which I bought for a test knit I knit, funnily enough, at this exact time last year! 🤣 I bought an extra skein of each color than I needed for my Sun and Solace tee, and so I had plenty of this yarn. I’ll make the top with the grey so it will be a color block type thing. I really love working with this yarn and it is so ridiculously photogenic. I mean look at that middle picture from Sunday morning. The sun hitting it is just perfect.
Even though there’s not a whole lot to share in terms of progress on this project, it feels SO GOOD to actually write about what I’m working on again! Basically from March-July I was working on secret tests, which I loved knitting, but it really drained my desire to be engaged in Blogvillle. It’s great feeling energized about this space again.
Life has been pretty good this week. I’ve stopped voluntarily going into the office as COVID continues to surge a bit in my area, which I know is the right thing to keep myself and the community safe, but I had been struggling recently to be productive at home. So this weekend I actually bought a small desk for downstairs in my living room, since being in my bedroom all the time was I think contributing to it. It’s been a little better this week which is good!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful week!
