Happy Friday all! I hope everyone had a great week. It was finally sunny this week for the first time in a while, and that really helped my mood! I went to a basketball game, had dinner with my bestie, got a haircut, got a lot done a work, it was just a really great week all around.
I figured I’d share some recent-ish cross stitch projects I finished. I’m trying to spend more time on cross stitch and embroidery this year because I find it really fun, and even though most of these projects got done at the end of last year, it really set me up with an embroidery vibe.

Ok, so this started as a bit of an inside joke. I had a friend who didn’t get cast in two shows in a row at my theater last year, and at one point someone trying to comfort her said “who wants to do shows there anyway, the theater has bats, cats, and rats!” Which has improved but was definitely true at one point. So I couldn’t resist making this little cross stitch to commemorate that. I designed this in Excel using some fonts and icons I found on Etsy, and I really like it! It’s simple but cute. This was also the fist project where I used felt and blanket stitch to cover the back, and I think it looks really nice!

A friend I did two shows with this year decided to start his own theater company with a few friends. They started their journey with a kickoff Gala, and he asked for raffle or silent auction items. The company is called Golden Fox Theater, so I thought this pattern (Floral Fox by Sacred Thread Designs on Etsy) would be perfect! I had a really good time making this pattern, and it only took a few days of stitching. This is now in the home of the winner of the silent auction, so I was happy to support the new theater company.

This one is my last one, and probably my favorite on this list! This is Yee-AAAAA by Studio Anisitru. Someone at my in person crafting club was making the ye-CAW version, and I really loved it. I thought it would be perfect for a friend who has a cowboy tattoo, so I texted him with no context with the list of animals, and he chose possum. It ended up absolutely perfect!
The most hilarious part of this is that I posted a little video of myself doing the backing on this one while lip-synching a song about a possum from a few years ago to TikTok, and it now has 1 million views. It’s very silly 🤣
I hope you enjoyed seeing these fun projects! I sure had fun making them. Have a great weekend!
