So Close, Yet So Far

,

Quick note – spoilers ahead for the Stephen West MKAL!

I am very close to finishing my two current projects! In fact, I debated not even writing this post because I was like… will I have a FO Friday? I absolutely COULD finish the socks if I wanted to. It’s hard to tell from the pic but I have just started the ribbing. However, I need a travel project for Friday and I do want to finish the MKAL as soon as possible since we are now at a week since the final clue came out. It’s been fun to challenge myself this year to finish quickly. I have tracked how long it’s taken me to make each shawl, and it’s looking like this will be my second fastest one. I am a few rows farther along than this picture shows, but once the border was done it was off the needles so I was actually able to lay the whole thing out nicely. This is technically the official end of the shawl, the additional rows are bonus border, but I had plenty of extra yarn so I’ll be adding several rows in. I can’t wait to start wearing it!

Figured I’d end off with a quick snapshot into my life recently. I know this has been a short little post but I’m trying to stay a bit more engaged on here!

  1. The WestKnits MKAL is just stunning! (as are you on your way to the opera!!) I am tucked away in Three Pines as well with Miss Wolcott’s Ghost… and loving it! Have a fantastic weekend! XO

    1. Yes I finished last night and loved it! It was such a nice return to a more “cozy” type mystery vs the more political type thrillers we last had.

  2. Wow. Love your shawl. Hmmm, I actually like that pattern. Wish I wore shawls. I really really need to start reading the Louise Penny books. I’ve had so many recommendations to read that series.

    1. I really like it because it has a lot of elements of a cozy mystery series but still feels very human and raw. It’s definitely emotional and heavy at points but otherwise I keep coming back because I love the characters
