It’s been a while since a YoP post so let’s share February knitting progress, shall we? Yes, it’s kind of a day late for YoP but since I needed a monthly update post anyway… Since it’s been a while, YoP is a Ravelry group of bloggers who plan their projects for the year and blog about it. It’s a super supportive group of folks and I feel bad that I haven’t been as engaged the past month or so. You can find my plans, which have gone a bit off the rails recently, here.

Projects cast off in February: 5

WIPs/ UFOs on January 31: 4

Total Stitches in February: 84,568
Omg, 4 WIPs/UFOs!??!?! And I even met my monthly scrap blanket goal? Who even am I lol? I’m really happy with how much I’ve worked down my long term projects this year. It’s been a goal of mine and I’m proud of myself for actually meeting it! Now, I don’t see myself being a truly monogamous knitter, especially once things like commuting and theater and travel start happening again, I’ll probably keep at least an easy travel project and a more complex project going at any one time, but keeping the total amount of on the needles projects at around 5 feels pretty sustainable for me. We’ll see how long that lasts haha!!
Are you surprised to see Catkin off the list? Yeah, me too! When I finished my hats at the end of last week, I needed something to occupy my knitting time until today, and I was like, hey, let’s give Catkin some love. It’s my oldest active WIP, and I wasn’t actually too far from the end. I didn’t necessarily expect to finish it before the end of the month, but once I realized that was a possibility I just zoomed through it. FO post coming sometime this week!
For March, my knitting will be primarily focused on a new test knit I’ll be working on. I should be getting the pattern today! This is a secret test, but I can tell you that it is big (I bought 750 grams of yarn), complex, and I expect it to take up most, if not all, of my knitting time for the next two months. It’s got to be blocked and photographed by 4/20, and honestly I’m a little worried about that happening! So I don’t expect much progress in other places.
That brings me to the blog – it may be a little boring around here, as I literally am not supposed to share anything – not colors, gauge swatches, sneak peaks, whatever about this project until about 2 weeks from the release date. But I have the idea to write some posts about projects I made and really loved, but completed prior to having the blog, so there might be some posts coming from that. What are you working on in March?
