About Me

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m so happy to have you here.

My name is Kathryn, and I set up this blog to talk about my knitting. I have been knitting steadily since late 2014, though I first learned when I was in middle school. Knitting is a way for me to relax, challenge myself, meet new friends, and make beautiful things. I figured out a few years ago that my driving force is to create things people use or enjoy, and knitting fits right into this.

That driving spirit is not just about knitting though. It’s what keeps me engaged at my day job at an insurance company, working on process improvement to make other people’s jobs easier. It’s also why I do theater – the name of this blog comes from my love of working on a show.

On this blog you’ll find my musings around the projects I knit and how they fit into my life. I love to get to know my fellow bloggers, so stop by and say hello!

Ah yes, everyone’s favorite series- last minute sewing with Kathryn! Making ties for Spring Awakening at @cttheatreco which opens tonight!!

In honor of Spring Awakening opening at @cttheatreco tomorrow, here’s a little throwback Thursday of the last time I got to help tell this story during my @wigandbuckle days.

So amazing to see @la_fleur_qui_chante sing with the chorus for Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in Carnegie Hall!

My giant sock yarn blanket is finally done! I love this thing so much 💜 Check out backstageknits.com for more info!

Finally got a chance to lay out my sock blanket to get the full scale of it - it’s going to be so giant and cozy! I also planned out most of the colors for the rest of it - hoping to finish this off in March!

What. A. Show! I’m really proud of this production and the work we did. Special thanks to Kat, Ben, Kim and Nick for being such a great group. And this cast was amazing and so supportive when I showed up on stage this weekend, so they’ll always have a special place in my heart ❤️
