Settling In – Year of Projects ’24-’25 – Week 19

, ,

Happy Sunday! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve checked in with Year of Projects. YoP is a Ravelry group of bloggers who share a plan for their projects for a year, and then blog weekly about it. You can see my plan here .

I don’t have a whole lot to share this week. I’ve been doing a decent amount of knitting, but nothing is looking too different from when I last blogged. I did finished one of my test knit socks, and I started the other last night. Hoping to finish these off in the next week or so – they are due Feb 24th but I’d like to move on to something different. I’m also wary of having too many projects going on at once, because I like to see progress on what I’m working on. I need to start a new hat, both because making two was on my YoP list, and because I somehow lost the one I brought with me to Seattle. But I’d like to get something off the needles first. So hoping to move through these somewhat quickly. Consonance is slowly moving down the body, and the purple socks are actually a little farther along than this picture shows, I’m about ready to do the cuff on the first sock. I’ve brought those to the office and have been working on them

In non-crafting world, I’m really started to get settled in to my new life here in Seattle. The office opened this week, so I’m now going in three days a week. I appreciate having the structure again, and it’s nice to have met some more people. It was a bit of an adventure getting in with the snow we had this week, and I’m definitely tired from people-ing, but overall it’s making it feel more like I’m really belonging here. I’ve done a TON of walking and adventuring around the city, and loving being able to do that.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. Especially love your colorwork socks. What is the pattern? So glad you are settling in and loving Seattle. Such a big move. I still remember being offered a job in San Francisco when I graduated college. I was afraid to be so far from family but fortunately you have cousins in the area and are more adventurous than I am.

    1. Thanks Maureen! The pattern is a test so it isn’t out yet, but they’ll be the Perfect Peony socks.
It definitely helps to have cousins, and to have visited this city so much during my life

  2. I like your pictures – a peek into your life in Seattle. And I LOVE those socks with the flowers on them. Too cute! Your other knits are wonderful, too. 🙂

  3. Your projects all look great! So glad you are settling in and enjoying your new Seattle lifestyle 🙂 It is a great city. I travelled there for work quite a few times, and always loved it. I bet living there is awesome!

  4. I am nodding in agreement with those gorgeous color work socks! And I love the “peeks” into your new neighborhood! I am so glad you are settling in so nicely! I departed from Sleeve Island yesterday … thanks Super Knitting Bowl! Ha! Have an amazing week!
