About Me

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my blog. I’m so happy to have you here.

My name is Kathryn, and I set up this blog to talk about my knitting. I have been knitting steadily since late 2014, though I first learned when I was in middle school. Knitting is a way for me to relax, challenge myself, meet new friends, and make beautiful things. I figured out a few years ago that my driving force is to create things people use or enjoy, and knitting fits right into this.

That driving spirit is not just about knitting though. It’s what keeps me engaged at my day job at an insurance company, working on process improvement to make other people’s jobs easier. It’s also why I do theater – the name of this blog comes from my love of working on a show.

On this blog you’ll find my musings around the projects I knit and how they fit into my life. I love to get to know my fellow bloggers, so stop by and say hello!

I love getting to do this 🩷
Inspired by the amazing production of Rent I just saw, here’s Collins and Angel as portrayed by @kevinkileymusic and @_galendonovan, with costumes by @brendonrogers0426 💜
Not really my usual content, but I want some way to mark this occasion. After starting as an intern in 2010, today is my last day in Small Business Underwriting. On Monday I start a new role, still at the same company but in the Middle Market department. After so long in the same place, it’s going to feel very odd, but I’m really excited for this next step!
Congratulations Sarah and George! It was a beautiful wedding and I’m so happy to have been a part of your special day. I also loved this little Young Frankenstein reunion 🧡
Two things I love about stage managing are making the audience happy and getting to see my friends on stage shine. Head Over Heels absolutely delivered on both those fronts. This show was such a joy, and left me smiling and laughing for 2 straight hours. And this cast - I feel so privileged to see them do what they love in spite of me always yelling at them, the constant energy of runs, endless scene and costume changes, and some of the most amazing and intense choreography I’ve ever seen. I’m so so so proud of them!!! Thanks Emma, Duane, Kim, and Nick for being a dream production team <3. I love you all and can’t wait to work with you again. Remember- 🗡️ it on stage, but don’t 🗡️ yourself.
Pride is best with friends 🌈 so thankful to have @devin_marie24 and @ryrysoflyyy to hang with today
Absolutely obsessed with my new tattoo done by Hannah @smoggybananas at @stablestudiotattoo
Always such a good time hanging with these three 🌳💚💛☀️
What do flowers, sheep, and a mop have to do with each other? Come find out at Head Over Heels at @cttheatreco !
