Happy Sunday! Checking in today with a Year of Projects post. Year of Projects is a group of bloggers who plan their projects for the year and then blog about their progress weekly, usually on Sundays. You can find my list for the year here.
I’ve got one quick update today. I decided I wanted to try and do a sewing project this weekend, since I was going to my friend Leah’s for knitting yesterday and could use her sewing knowledge. I ended up making the pants from the Spinifex PJs from Muna and Broad.

I think these turned out pretty well! I sewed the size E, and they’re probably a little big, but fit ok around the waist and aren’t falling down or anything like that. This was my first time working with elastic and piping, and it was a little tricky in some places, but overall I figured it out without too much angst. I’m not sure if I’ll make the top, that half seems even more complicated, and I think I’ve hit my sewing quota for the next month or so lol! I do like to sew, but I don’t like the prep work for it. So we’ll see. If the top never gets made that’s fine, realistically I’d probably spend more time in the pants anyway.
Knitting has been very monogamous on my Cempasuchil top, I’m slowly but surely making my way through the body and hopefully by this time next week I’ll be on to the raglan decreases. Maybe??? Overall this has been a pretty great week, and since it’s December I’ve kept up with filming things for Vlogmas. Once I decided I was going to do Vlogmas in earnest, I found I had a lot of footage, so I ended up putting everything together for three days. I hope you enjoy!
Very cute jammie pants. You did a very good job on them.
Cute pj bottoms. Congrats on doing Vlogmas. I find it hard enough to do a weekly blog. I can see your Yearly Stitches Tracker ad as I type this. Spoiler Alert – my end of the year post will include some analysis insight from my day of the week/monthly stitches tracking.
Yeah it is a lot of work to do Vlogmas but I’ve been enjoying it! Wouldn’t want to do it more than once a year lol
And yay data!
Your pajama pants look great and very comfy!
Your PJs look great and I’m sure will be super comfortable for hanging out in or sleeping. With you and Alissa making PJs it makes me wonder if I should have a go, but like you I find the prep, before you get to the sewing machine, less interesting. My husband is still asleep so I’ll come back to watch the video 😀
You have a lovely singing voice. Thank you for the look into your life. The nativity set is wonderful.
Those jammy pants are SO CUTE! They love so comfy. I’ve subscribed to your YouTube channel – how fun! Lovely decorations 🙂
Your pants look great! The piping is a really nice addition. Also yay for more Vlogmas videos!
Fun PJ pants with pockets! I think that’s a good decision, since there are always random bits and pieces that one needs upon arising from sleep.
Cute jammie pants! Very nice too with the piping and all. I’ll watch the vlogmas later. Have a great week!
Those are cute PJ pants! I completely agree that I prefer the sewing part to the prep-work. I need to just buckle down and sew something anyway.
The pants are soooo cute! (Sew cute??? 🙂 )
I’m the same – like in theory, I really want to sew, but I hate all the prep work that goes into it. Thus, nothing ever gets sewed in my house.
Love the pjs. How fun to just whip those up so quickly.
Love the pj’s – just about to go and watch the video!
